Ecuador, the Center of the World

One of the most enjoyable trips that I have taken was a 4 days trip to Ecuador. We were invited there to meet our tourist industry suppliers, to do site inspections of several hotels, to tour the city of Quito and meet the friendly people of Ecuador. We had a wonderful experience and plan to return soon. Ecuador sits on the equator and has four distinct regions, the Galapagos - nature at its purest, the Costa - where the green beaches meet the sea, the Andes - the avenue of the volcanoes, and Amazonia - from the Andes peaks to the jungle. The diversity in climate, culture and people is extraordinary.
The capital city, Quito is a mixture of a modern settings along side centuries old cultures, churches and museums. Ecuador has a rich multi cultural history of Andean people, Rainforest people, Native organizations, Spanish and Afro-Ecuadorians. Flight from Atlanta: 51/2 hrs. Currency: US$ Dollar, Religion: 82% Catholic, Official Language: Spanish, Population: 12.6 million, GDP per capita: US$ 2,970, Accepted credit cards: Master Card, Visa, American Express, Dinners, Largest cities: Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca. A trip to Ecuador can be extremely affordable and rewarding. Call us and let us get you there.
Here is some important information on Ecuador: Ecuador offers a multitude of activities with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world as a backdrop. This includes surfing, scuba diving, mountain biking/climbing/trekking, rock climbing, rafting, kayaking, birding watching, whale watching, cultural and indigenous market tourism, Hacienda tourism, orchid tourism, agritourism, archaeological tourism and much, much more.
Weekend at the Beau

Ida and I spent last weekend in Gulfport, Mississippi enjoying the view at several hotel/casinos. We stayed at the Beau Rivage but circulated between the IP (Imperial Palace), Boomtown and the Island View. Gulfport is a sleepy (except for the casinos) coastal town rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina. The casinos offer all levels of gambling, great enterainment, very nice accommadations and beautiful vistas. The Beau Rivage Casino actually extends into the ocean. It's about a 1 hour flight or a 7 hour drive from Atlanta.
We partied, gambled and ate our days and nights away with two of our travel mates, James and JoAnn. Those penny slots know all of us on a first name basis and the all you can eat buffets with every food known to man is no place for a dieter. We can't wait to go back
Christmas In Cape Town
2/3/2009 2:50:27 PM
Over the Christmas holidays some of our agents visited Cape Town, South Africa. This is a bustling exciting destination considered one of the most beautiful regions on earth. The city, reminiscent of San Francisco, circles the base of Table Mountain and offers something for everyone. This is a very walkable city with beautiful beaches, friendly multicultural residents and a good cosmopolitan mix of business and leisure establishments. The V & A Waterfront is the most visited tourist attraction in the city. The Nelson Mandela Gateway is located on the waterfront and is the departure point for ferries to Robben Island where Mr. Mandela was incarcerated for 26 years under the apartheid regime.
Delta Air Lines flies to Cape Town from Atlanta, Ga (with a stopover in Dakar, Senegal) The flight takes approximately 20 hours. There's so much to see and do in this city and an added bonus is that the exchange rate is very favorable. During our visit the rate was 9.5 rands to the dollar. It's one of the few places where you truly can get more bang for your buck! It's summertime/peak season in South Africa right now. To get the best vacation value, consider travelling during May or September. These are seasonal shoulder months and prices are generally lower.
Checking Out The Sights In Puerto Rico
2/3/2009 2:50:27 PM
Recently our agency was invited to Puerto Rico by the Puerto Rican tourism board to do site inspections of 15 hotels, historic sites and tourism venues. The Puerto Rican Tourism board is very interested in increasing travel to this wonderful island and thus the reason for the invitation. It was a world-wind 6 day tour but well worth the visit. Because of the large number of sites to visit, we were busy from early morning until late evening. Puerto Rico is divided into 5 regions, each with its own unique characteristics and attractions. With 78 distinctive cities, virtually any type of special interest can be accommodated - from relaxing on gorgeous beaches, to hiking in the rain forest, to golfing on 22 world-class golf courses to just enjoying the sizzling nightlife and exciting casinos. One of our most exciting adventures was visiting the Bioluminescence Bay.
The bay is located in San Juan and contains micro organisms that emit light on contact. This tour is only offered at night. Upon arriving at the tour location, guests have to use kayaks to maneuver through mangrove lined canals to reach the bioluminescence bay. Everything is pitch dark in the bay. Here's the fun part - anything that touches the water is illuminated; hands, paddles, rain, etc. It's an amazing and other-worldly experience that we highly recommend. Another must see is El Yunque, the rain forest. Puerto Rico boasts the only rainforest under the U.S. flag and should be on everyone's to do list. You can enlist the services of a trained guide or go it alone.
